Couples Therapy

Is something feeling ‘off’ in your relationship?

Rediscover connection and intimacy through thoughtful couples therapy.

Feeling like the spark is gone in your relationship? That doesn’t mean it is!

It’s all too common to hear, “We’ve lost our spark,” or “We’re not on the same page.” If this resonates with you, know that you’re not alone, and there’s hope.

Often, when something feels off, it is not that love has disappeared. It is that deeper patterns have taken hold, patterns that quietly leave one or both of you feeling misunderstood, unheard, or emotionally distant.

Together, we’ll explore the heart of your relationship, slowing things down so we can understand not just what you’re arguing about, but why those same themes keep returning.

Reconnect and understand your relationship more deeply

Imagine a relationship where every conversation strengthens your bond, and intimacy isn’t just physical but emotional and spiritual.

Our work together isn’t about quick techniques or surface fixes. It’s about understanding the emotional patterns shaping your connection.

Experience the joy of being truly connected, understanding each other on a profound level, and celebrating the love that unites you.

How I can help:

Couples Therapy

In our sessions, we’re going to talk — really talk — about what’s happening between you and your partner, including the emotional and intimate aspects of your relationship.

Couples Therapy

We’ll create a space where it’s safe to explore those nagging feelings of unease, to be present with each other, and to start enjoying life and relationships fully again. Imagine stepping into a space where you and your partner can truly hear and see each other, perhaps for the first time in a long while. That’s the heart of couples therapy with me.

It’s common for partners to feel misunderstood or to struggle with expressing their deepest needs and feelings. Here, we’ll take those unspoken words and feelings and bring them into the light, creating a safe space to explore and understand each other’s experiences and viewpoints.
In our therapy sessions, we’ll tackle the issues that might be causing tension or distance between you. Whether it’s a breakdown in communication, a lingering sense of dissatisfaction, or even the aftermath of a crisis, we’ll address these challenges together.

Rather than focusing only on communication techniques, we look at the emotional meaning underneath your reactions and how your individual histories shape the way you respond to one another. Together, we’ll work toward a more secure and understanding connection, where differences can be acknowledged without creating distance.

As we move forward, you’ll begin to recognize and shift patterns in how you relate, creating a partnership that feels more steady and emotionally connected.
Through this journey, you’ll do more than revive the spark that brought you together. You’ll build a bond rooted in a deeper understanding.

Intimacy and Sexual Connection

Intimacy and sexual connection are often part of the larger relational story. Desire may have shifted. Sex may feel pressured, avoided, or disconnected. You may struggle to talk openly about what you want or need. Rather than treating sexuality as a separate issue, we understand it as woven into your emotional bond.

In a respectful, judgment-free space, we can explore changes in desire, performance anxiety, cultural or personal beliefs about sex, and emotional disconnection affecting physical closeness.Sexual intimacy is rarely just physical. It reflects vulnerability, safety, and emotional trust.

Together, we’ll work toward a more authentic and meaningful connection, one that aligns with who you both are now.

Craving a stronger connection?

Whether you’re facing challenges in your relationship or just want to deepen your bond, I’m here to guide you toward a more fulfilling and loving partnership.

Your couples therapy journey

Here’s how we’ll approach your path to a more fulfilling relationship through couples therapy.

Creating a Safe Space

In our initial sessions, we’ll build a foundation where both of you feel comfortable and motivated to share and explore. This trust is crucial for our journey together, ensuring we can address the most intimate aspects of your relationship with honesty and respect. Exploring Dynamics

We’ll tap into the fabric of your relationship, examining communication patterns, emotional needs, and intimacy issues. It’s a process of discovery and understanding, uncovering the root of challenges and celebrating the strengths that bind you together.

Enhancing Your Bond

As insight deepens, you’ll begin responding to each other differently. Reactions soften. Conversations become more open. Over time, this creates a partnership that feels steadier, more connected, and more secure.

FAQs

Learn more about couples therapy

Couples therapy can stir up a mix of emotions and, naturally, quite a few questions. If you don’t find the answers you’re seeking in the FAQs below, don’t hesitate to reach out.
I offer telehealth couples therapy to clients in Michigan and Colorado. I also have therapy space available for in-person sessions in Birmingham, Michigan. For clients in Michigan, we often use a hybrid model. We may meet in person every couple of weeks and conduct the remaining sessions online. This allows for flexibility while still maintaining meaningful connection.
Taking the first step can feel intimidating. Many couples hesitate before making that call. Reaching out is a sign of strength, not weakness. It’s the beginning of a conversation, a chance to explore and address what’s holding you back, in a supportive and understanding environment.
The first session is about setting the stage for our work together. It’s a time for sharing your stories, identifying your goals, and starting to build that crucial trust between us. Each of you will have space to share your perspective. We’ll begin identifying the patterns that feel most pressing and clarify what you hope will shift. Most importantly, we begin building the trust that makes deeper work possible.
There’s no set timeline for therapy. It’s as unique as you and your partner are. The pace depends on your goals, the depth of the concerns, and how ready you both feel to engage in the process. Some find that a few sessions bring significant insight and improvement, while others might choose a longer journey of exploration and growth.
If you’re feeling disconnected, unfulfilled, or just sense that something’s ‘off’, it might be time to reach out. You do not have to be in crisis to begin. Often, couples seek therapy because they value their relationship and want to understand it more fully. There’s no set timeline for therapy. It’s as unique as you and your partner are. As you gain insight into your patterns, you naturally begin responding differently to one another. That understanding becomes something you carry forward. Periodic check-ins or follow-up sessions can also help sustain progress.
Sometimes I may suggest reflection or continued conversations between sessions, but this is not a skills-based or worksheet-driven model. The primary work happens in the room as we observe and understand your dynamic together.
It’s common for individual issues to surface. While our focus remains on the relationship, I may recommend individual therapy if it would support the overall work.
Confidentiality is extremely important to me. Everything discussed in our sessions is protected, providing a secure space to explore sensitive topics without concern.
